The Gentiles were prepared for the Incarnation of Christ by the globalization of the Roman Empire, the logos spermatikos, or seeds of Christ hidden in divinely inspired Greek philosophical thought. The unique ability to spread the gospel throughout the largely unified Roman empire and the world at this time in history was unprecedented. This was as the scriptures say ‘the fullness of time.’ Mystically it was written in the stars so that non-jewish eastern ‘wise men’ or maji could follow the Bethleham star and give proper worship to the King of all the cosmos. God prepared the gentiles in amazing ways to recieve the king of all.
I love how you said, “seeds of Christ hidden in divinely inspired Greek philosophical thought,” because that’s how it goes, isn’t it? God is everywhere, present, and fillest all things; he is in everything. He scatters His seeds all over the world, and sometimes people pick them up, hang onto them for many years, and then finally one day realize what they had growing in their pocket all along from that seed!! <3
Truly this was the fullness of time since God knows when and how things must come together to work for our own good; if everyone wasn’t united under Roman law, the people likely wouldn’t have been able to unite through Christ. “Mystically written in the stars” is also beautiful. Even creation itself was prepared for the Son of man to come <3 Beautiful!
One way the Gentiles were prepared for the incarnation was through the philosophical thought that was brought to people’s attention. Many had forgotten what matters and why we are even here after the fall of man had gone far enough downhill and humanity got further from God. Individuals who made people think of their own mortality and the reason for their existence opened their minds and hearts to an answer to these questions.
