This independent study course has been developed for the non-Orthodox student as well as the Orthodox Christian seeking a deeper knowledge of their own tradition. Its content is centered on a particular book, author, or theme regarding the theory, practice, and contemporary cross currents of servant leadership in the context of for-profit businesses, non-profit organizations, and ecclesiastical settings. This course seeks to bring a deeper focus on the intersection of Orthodox theology with leadership development, management technique, and personal growth.
At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to:
• Describe the meaning and content of a particular text, author, or theme and its major contribution to leadership and management.
• Define a specific question about a particular aspect of the work and its contribution to leadership and management.
• Answer the above by researching the view of a particular author, employing critical analysis to understand his or her argument, and forming a cogent perspective on it.
• Grow in the ability to provide information about this particular aspect of leadership and management.
• Impart wisdom to others on how to incorporate Orthodox theology into their views on, and practice of, leadership and management in the workplace.
